As someone from the 'analytic' side of the divide who has always had a strong interest in critical approaches to understanding law, I was really delighted to be asked to be part of Alex, Josh, and Sahar's 'Just Jurisprudence' project which was given a wonderful kick start in a one day workshop on Bridging the Analytical-Critical Divide held at the University of Bristol Law School on 15th November 2024: 2024: 'Just' Jurisprudence Conference | University of Bristol Law School | University of Bristol
The day itself was wonderful: open, exploratory, congenial, lively, with a wide variety of work presented and discussed. There was a spirit of genuine exchange and willingness to learn across alleged disciplinary divides that I find all too rare in academia. I met new colleagues and friends that I hope always to stay in touch with. As a contributor to the edited collection stemming from the workshop, I had a terrific experience during the editing process, and am so grateful to Alex, Josh and Sahar for their incisive yet generous-and-constructive-in-spirit comments, which made my piece so much better than it otherwise would have been. I am really looking forward to revisiting all the contributors essays in their final form.
